Omari Ishmael Grandberry was born on November 12th, 1984 in Inglewood, California. He has a younger brother who is also a singer. Omarion’s foray into TV started when he appeared in McDonald’s and Kellogg’s Corn Pops commercials as a child.
He then went on to become a background dancer for the group Before Dark. His interest in music started thereafter and he started to focus on creating music.
He joined the group B2K which was short for ‘Boys of The New Millenium’ in 1999. This is when he chose the stage name, Omarion. The group released singles and albums that became hits. The group broke up in 2004.
Omarion then ventured into acting in 2004 and appeared in many movies such as You Got Served and Fat Albert. He released a solo album the next year which debuted at no. 1 on the Billboard 200.
