Mika Emilie Leonia Brzezinski Scarborough was born on May 2nd, 1967 in New York City. She attended Georgetown University before shifting to Williams College two years later.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the latter in 1989. Her journalism career started when she became an assistant at World News This Morning a year later on ABC.
She then moved to a Fox-affiliated network and became a general assignments reporter. She joined a CBS affiliate in 1992 and by 1995 she became a weekday morning anchor.
Two years later, she began working in CBS News Up to the Minute program. She then worked for MSNBC’s Homepage for a while.
Mika Brzezinski returned to CBS in 2001 where she became a ground zero reporter for the September 11th, 2001 attacks. She began working with MSNBC in January 2007.
She contributed to NBC Nightly News and Weekend Today before being offered to co-host the Morning Joe program. This is when she resigned from her previous two positions.
She started co-hosting Morning Joe with Joe Scarborough and Willie Geist and continues to do so today. She was selected to inaugurate the Forbes 50 Over 50 in 2021.
